IG's are one of the hardest to potty train breeds out there. It's a HUGE reason that the dogs are dumped at shelters and in rescue.
Basically, you have to realize that she will never be 100% potty trained. You may be able to get to 75%, 90%, or even 99%, but most IG's still have accidents at some point (especially in yucky weather).
Punishment does not really work with IG's as they are too sensitive. A 'no' during the act may be helpful, but some IG's then think they are getting in trouble for getting caught and just hide it better.
Your only option is to be more vigilant about taking her out. If that means every 60 minutes, then so be it. And get her fixed, if she's nto already. IG's are one of those breeds where the females mark just like males – especially when in heat.
Yeah, my italian greyhound climbs the fence we have in the kitchen too. You really can’t buy mesh fence doors for them. They hurt themselves climbing them =( we now open the drawers next to it and put something in front that is way too high and solid to climb.
So cute! Iggies are as agile as cats and think they can do all these things. But keep in mind that IG’s legs are very delicate and break easily. And it’s an expensive fix! For future info…always keep their weight down to normal because extra weight makes broken legs even more likely.and harder to heal. Just FYI. Beautiful pupper!
Italian Greyhounds are fabulous racers. If you want to give your dog a good time, try bringing your dog to a local lure coursing event and see if the club has practice runs that you can test your dog on and see how they do.
At home, try fuzzy, squeeky things on a light line that you can bounce around and act like little prey. IG have wonderful prey drive and love to chase small, fuzzy things that dart like prey. This is very natural.
Check out Yahoo Groups to see if they have IG groups. Maybe you can hook up with local owners in your area or region. Maybe there are breed clubs you can attend events.

That's why it's a PET!!
Over-sized,UNDER-sized,topline,running gear, etc. ALL must conform to the BREED STANDARD to be show/breeding quality!
and…are you OVER-FEEDING??? Most pet-people do,you know!
