$1200 a year per dog at least. Smaller dogs are usually more expensive. Thank-you for thinking about this first. Most people think it's a 50# bag of Ol' Roy once in a while.

own 1 shih=tzu and a peke here and we really don't walk much. we play in the front yard more than anything. fetch chase and they run around. but they have a nightly routine of running from bedroom through house to kitchen a couple of times than they pass out lol. 1500 foot house so its not to big but big enough.

No puppy should be bred until the heat following her second birthday.
This is for the ease of whelping, the stronger instincts to be a good mom, and for the mom's own bone/joint health, as she isn't fully developed until 2 years old.

You are right..she is still a puppy.

Yes if you are skilled at dog training and very very patient and consistent. Basic behavioral training will work on almost any animal…

That said, the results from the Shih-tzu may not be satisfactory, despite good training and the dog's willingness to hunt, based on it's genetic characteristics. Only you can judge the dog's potential. Good Luck.

there is only one size shih tzu. It is in the toy group. You can google the breed & check the standard – it gives you the size & wt.

there are no imperiel, mini or t-cup shih tzu's
